Review: Bloom Remedies Daily Detox Face Moisturiser

00:39

Last summer I came across the small company called Bloom Remedies whose products are handmade in Cornwall. The range includes natural facial and body skincare, as well as aromatherapy. The entire range organic and completely cruelty free (yay!). In addition, the containers are made from recycled material and the packaging usually does not contain plastic. It always rubs me the wrong way when goodies arrive through post packaged in layers of unnecessary plastic so this is definitely a brownie point!

I was on a hunt to find a good reasonably priced moisturiser. My favourite is Pai Geranium & Thistle Rebalancing Day Cream but steep price of £34 for 50ml made me want to look for an alternative. Bloom Remedies have amazing offer of £6 (+free P&P) for 30ml sample of their 4 types of moisturisers:

  • Daily Detox - Oily and problematic skin
  • Daily Replenish - Normal skin
  • Daily Revive - Dry skin
  • Delicate Care - Sensitive skin

I have oily/combo/congested/blemish prone skin so my obvious choice was Daily Detox. Dispatch and delivery was very quick - there is nothing worse than paying for your products and having to wait weeks for your order to arrive!

Daily Detox is usually priced at £12.50 for 50ml or £19.50 for 100ml so getting this sample bottle is a very good deal! The moisturiser has tea tree oil scent and is very smooth. In the summer I used 2 pumps however since it is middle of the winter I like to add a few drops of facial oil for extra nourishment (to be honest I have a lot of facial oils so I am trying to use up). I love how this moisturiser just sinks in beautifully. I liked it so much I even got another bottle as a present but ended up using it myself!
Unfortunately all moisturisers have beeswax so not vegan-friendly 😥

Daily Detox Moisturiser with Palmarosa & Tea tree - Aqua, Sunflower seed oil*, Chamomile flower water*, Cocoa butter*, Glycerin*, Meadowfoam oil*, Witch hazel flower water*, Lavender flower water*, Glcyeryl stearate, Calendula oil*, Cetyl alcohol, Cetearyl alcohol, Benzyl alcohol, Beeswax*, Vitamin E, Potassium sorbate, Cetearyl glucoside, Xanthan gum, Rosemary flower extract*, Juniper essential oil*, Palmarosa essential oil*, Cedarwood essential oil*, Geranium essential oil*, Ho leaf essential oil*, Litsea *may chang) essential oil*, Sweet orange essential oil*, Tea tree essential oil*, Rosemary essential oil*, Seabuckthorn extract*, Thyme essential oil*, Citric acid. *Organic ingredient

Bloom remedies are very aromatherapy orientated hence all of the products I looked at have essential oils. I can see this being a problem with some people who have very sensitive skin or those who do not like strong smell.

The good: Completely organic and natural
The bad: There is a lot of guesswork when it comes to volume of product - apart from moisturiser samples there is no information about volume or weight of products
The notable: Environmentally friendly company

Bottom line is that I really enjoy this product and would be very curious to try out other products from this brand.

Let me know what is your favourite moisturiser 😄
