Germany 2017 | Body Oils - Laila London and Inner Senses

Continuing with my "what I took with me to Germany" string, this post will focus on body oils. it took me a while to get into the swing of body oils, which is rather surprising because I quickly got on the good terms with facial oils (unlike the majority of people who initially thought facial oils are the next creation of Devil, you know, right after the creation of a bra). While I do love my body oils, I will still say they do not give me as much moisture as I like during winter time so I like to supplement my routine with body butters / lotions. It is summer time so my skin does not complain of being dry and just sticking to lightweight oils works just fine for me.

Laila London Rose Body Oil 100ml

I have managed to get this bottle for an amazing bargain of £2 through Latest in Beauty subscription service. I think it was such a steal because the company has reformulated a good chunk of their selection hence were trying to sell off the older stock. The first thing I will say is IT HAS ROSE PETALS which serves as an absolute cuteness factor and allows the oil to continue being infused with its plant goodness. Win-win situation. Infused with marula, coconut and rosehip oils this little gem promises to soften the skin and improve its elasticity, while still being lightweight and easy to absorb. The blend of essential oils of rose otto and geranium with a twist of bergamot create an incredible scent. If you love roses, this would be a great item to add to your collection! Of course, this also makes a terrific present (but only for the most special people in your life, otherwise keep it for yourself, you are so worth it!). The only thing I do not like is the pipette - it is rather short and only reaches 2/3 of the bottle. This means when the level of oil is below the tip of the pipette, I have to tilt the bottle in order to get some oils into the pipette. Also, when you have very little oil left, some of the small petals will get into your pipette. I cannot remember the original price (something around £20), however, reformulated body oil available on the official website is £19 RRP with very minor changes to the formula.

Inner Senses Vitality Body Oil RRP 18.00 for 100 ml *

This bottle came to me through OBL club which is a green beauty platform that connects brands with users in exchange for a fair and honest review of products. Anyone can sign up and receive an email invitation to apply to test a product in the upcoming campaign. Since it is such a sweet deal, the competition is high, however, I was lucky to be chosen to review this body oil (I did NOT receive any form of gratification from the brand or OBL). I was very happy to receive this version from the brand's selection of body oils because I am very impartial to neroli. Inner Senses are in fact artisans of aromatherapy so the blend of essential oils of petitgrain, neroli and may chang is simply divine! This fabulous aroma is found in the base of apricot kernel oil which is rich in essential fatty acids and vitamin A makes a great choice for dry or ageing skin. I love the simplicity of the ingredients and the packaging will fit in well with those who prefer minimalism over fancy labels! The only downside is the dispensing mechanism - the rubber plug has a teeny-tiny opening which makes it very challenging to get any oil out of it. I removed it from the start (for my sanity and for cleanliness of my bathroom) and once the body oil from Laila London is finished, I will pour the remaining oil into that bottle - the pipette makes it easier to measure the amount of oil required! My problem with the opening is not solitary since other reviewers on OBL website have mentioned the same struggles so it is definitely an improvement point.

Vegan, UK brand, 93% organic

INGREDIENTS/INCI:  *Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) kernel oil, Tocopherol, Citrus Aurantium Amara (Petitgrain) leaf oil, Litsea Cubeba (May Chang) fruit oil, Citrus Aurantium (Neroli) flower oil  ** Linalool, Limonene, Citral, Geraniol, Citronellol

* Of organic origin
** Naturally present in essential oils

Overall, both body oils are very affordable for the generous amount of 100ml. I know, it sounds like nothing but that is because you are used to body lotions and creams. Body oils are not diluted with water which means you need less of it. A 100ml of body oil will take you a looooong way!
